Dr. Patricia Berman talks about her and her son Jacob's experience with Quantum Prep.

Patricia's son Jacob faced many challenges with his education. Dr. Berman recognized that her son is extremely bright and wanted give Jacob the very best opportunity to develop his talents. Quantum Prep worked with Patricia and Jacob to develop an SAT Math curriculum specifically designed to Jacob' learning learning style and academic goals.

The Result?

Jacob raised his score by nearly 200 points, and was awarded a sizable Presidential Scholarship at the college that he will be attending.

When we first called Quantum Prep we thought we'd be getting very targeted math tutoring but we've ended up with a life coach in a way for Jacob. I feel like there's someone who's a friend and almost like a big brother and a motivator and a teacher simultaneously.

My name is Patricia Berman and I'm the mother of Jacob Engelstad who's 17 years old and attends Prospect Hill Academy Charter School in Cambridge Massachusetts.

He'd been struggling for a few years with numbers and with some other small aspects of his learning. He began to see himself as someone incapable of learning math and sort of gave up on trying. At this point I think that the outside help that we've sought from Quantum Prep isn't so much to fill in a gap, but to enhance him as a learner.

He himself wanted to have math tutoring toward the sats because he didn't like the score he got on his psat’s, it was quite low. It didn't seem to reflect his capacities. But were more interested frankly in helping him to develop himself as somebody who actually is a math learner, to think deeply, to think in complex ways about the disciplines where hes been struggling.

So Jacob's been working with Quantum Prep for about half a year, it was really the entire spring semester, the outcome I think has been terrific, the benchmark was to increase his math score by a factor of x which he did do, but moreover he really enjoys learning.

Quantum Prep offers not just a targeted way of tutoring, but an entry into a intellectual universe that's very high level, very broad, and that's something that has really cultivated Jacob. We see nothing but improvement and really really positive outcomes at this point.
